Internet blackout in July? Hillgrove PR news impact

Google has warned about possible worldwide internet disruptions or blackout on or after 9 July due to a powerful computer virus. The alert will be displayed at the top of the Google search screen of infected computers to create awareness.

It is feared that the virus might have affected millions of computers around the world. The FBI had already set up a safety net months ago using government computers to prevent internet disruptions for those infected users, but will withdraw the support from 9July, a media report said.

Check and watch out for the Google alert on your system to see whether your computer is affected and what possible remedial measures can be taken.

Leaping from 2,400ft without a parachute - Hillgrove PR special

A British stuntman leapt 2,400ft from helicopter without parachute and landed safe onto a crash-pad of cardboard boxes. He was wearing a specially-made wing suit and had trained for weeks in Switzerland and Italy ahead of the jump, leaping from mountains and cliffs to practice gliding in his wing suit.

He is said to have studied the flight of kite birds to improve his technique in the wing suit.

More such brave attempts and further technical improvements in this 'wing suit' can sometimes lead to the making of some sort of craft or suit that may help human to safely glide in the air. After all, many great achievements started from simple steps of trial-and-error methods - just a crazy thought!!!

Rewritable memory encoded into DNA of living cells

A research team led by Jerome Bonnet, a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University, succeeded in encoding, storing and erasing digital data within the DNA of living cells.

The human body cells could thereby be doctored to slow down the aging process. This encoding of the DNA could also lead to destroying or repairing of certain cancerous cells...

This research finding could pave way for great achievements in the field of medical science.

Yahoo to sell its stakes in Alibaba - Hillgrove PR analyses the situation

Struggling internet giant Yahoo intends to collect around $7.1bn by selling its stake in Alibaba, the top e-commerce company in China.

Facebook and other social media sites should closely watch the troubles in Yahoo as they could also face the same situation sometimes in the future.

Comments from Hillgrove PR:

One reason for Yahoo's problems may be mismanagement, but the fact that people (users) always look for change and may abandon current sites for newer ones, should be a point of concern for all social media sites. Keep it in mind and always be ahead of the change to survive.

Get ready for important turning points in the Eurozone

Greece is planning fresh elections on 17 June as final talks to form a coalition failed on Tuesday. A senior judge has been appointed to head the interim government.

There is fear that Greece will not be able to overcome the debt crisis and IMF started signalling the country's exit from the Eurozone.

Comments from Hillgrove PR:

It's a high possibility that more people will vote for parties opposing the austerity measures in the new election. And if it happens, it'll culminate in a Greek exit from the euro.

Get ready for important turning points that'll affect the future of Europe and its common currency, the Euro.

Is Facebook just a 'passing fad'? - Hillgrove PR comments

An Associated Press-CNBC poll says half of Americans still think Facebook is just a 'passing fad' and doubts whether the bubble of its popularity will last.

With around 900million global users, Facebook is all set to become the first $100billion IPO and will stop taking the IPO orders on May 16, two days ahead of schedule, because of strong demand.

People more and more are heavily dependent on social media networking sites like Facebook, Twitter etc. for socialising and also for business purposes.

So as a PR agency, we don't think that these social media sites are just a passing fad.

A global cooling on the way?

Around 2,800 years ago, the Earth went through an abrupt period of cooling, caused by the sun with a 'solar minimum' activity, and the same could happen again soon, DailyMail reported.

Scientists at the GFZ German Research Centre for Geo-sciences using modern methodological approach analysed lake sediment in Lake Meerfelder Maar in the Eifel(Germany), and found direct evidence of a sudden cooling caused by a 'solar minimum'.

The current solar activity is said to be in a maximum mode with solar storms, sun spots etc. that can be a factor boosting the global warming and climate change. The scientists assume that this hyper activity period will be followed by a quiet Sun, causing a Solar minimum with cooling effect.

So, is it - the so called 'Global Cooling' - the nature's remedy for the ongoing global warming?! And can we assure ourselves that the predicted bad effects of Global warming will be automatically nullified by the opposite effects of Global Cooling?

P.S. These theories are not yet proven and the idea that the sun might affect climate on Earth so profoundly are controversial subjects.

PM Cameron and French President-elect Hollande at odds with Eurozone crisis

PM Cameron: "The euro is a project in transition that could go in a number of different ways ... all these countries have to make their own choices."

Is he hinting that Euro will not last long? The Europe to face economic chaos if the ongoing economic crisis is not solved in a reasonable time frame.

The PM further said the Euro needs single government to sustain.

Meanwhile, French leader Hollande said he is aiming at new Europe-wide taxes to neuter the City of London.

Hollande's inexperience could further weaken the Euro!
